Your First EFT Tapping Session
A Quick Start Guide
Welcome. You’re about to do something quietly powerful.
EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) works by gently tapping on specific points on your body while speaking the truth of what you’re carrying — out loud, or in your mind. It tells your nervous system: I see this. It’s safe to let it move.
You don’t have to believe in it for it to work. You just have to be willing to try.
Before You Start
Find a quiet spot. Sit comfortably. Take one slow breath in, and let it out.
You might feel emotional during this — that’s okay. That’s the point. Go at your own pace. You can pause anytime.
The Tapping Points (in order)
- 1Karate Chop — the soft outer edge of your hand, below the pinky
- 2Eyebrow — the inner edge of your eyebrow, just above the nose
- 3Side of Eye — the outer edge of the eye socket, on the bone
- 4Under Eye — the bone directly beneath your eye
- 5Under Nose — the space between your nose and upper lip
- 6Chin — the indent just below your lower lip
- 7Collarbone — one inch below and to the side of the collarbone notch
- 8Under Arm — about 4 inches below your armpit
- 9Top of Head — the crown of your head
Tap each point gently, 5–7 times. You don’t have to be precise. Close enough works.
Your First Session: “I Am Not Enough”
This session works with one of the most common core wounds: the belief that you are not enough — not lovable, not worthy, not worth the space you take up. If that doesn’t resonate, adjust the words to fit your truth.
Round 1 — Acknowledge the Wound
Karate Chop — repeat 3 times
- "Even though I carry this belief that I'm not enough, I deeply and completely love and accept myself."
- "Even though some part of me still believes I'm not enough — that I have to earn my place — I'm choosing to be gentle with that part of me."
- "Even though I've held onto this for a long time, and it feels true in my body, I honor where I've been."
Tap through the points
- Eyebrow:"This feeling of not being enough."
- Side of Eye:"This old belief that I have to earn love."
- Under Eye:"This weight I've been carrying."
- Under Nose:"The part of me that still believes it."
- Chin:"That I'm too much, or not enough."
- Collarbone:"This belief that lives in my chest."
- Under Arm:"I'm not enough."
- Top of Head:"And I've believed that for a long time."
Round 2 — Soften
Karate Chop — repeat 3 times
- "Even though a part of me still holds onto this belief, I'm willing to be curious about it."
- "Even though I'm not sure where this came from, I know it's not the whole truth."
- "Even though this feeling is familiar, I'm open to seeing it with compassion."
Tap through the points
- Eyebrow:"This belief that lives in my body."
- Side of Eye:"I wonder where it came from."
- Under Eye:"Some part of me learned this."
- Under Nose:"A younger part of me needed to believe it to survive."
- Chin:"I can have some compassion for that."
- Collarbone:"I'm not broken — I'm carrying something."
- Under Arm:"And I'm willing to set it down, slowly."
- Top of Head:"Slowly."
Round 3 — Move Toward Truth
Karate Chop — repeat 3 times
- "Even though this belief still feels real sometimes, I'm choosing to believe something truer."
- "Even though I've lived inside this story, I am more than what I was taught about myself."
- "Even though the wound is real, I am worthy of love — not because I've earned it, but because I exist."
Tap through the points
- Eyebrow:"I am more than this belief."
- Side of Eye:"I am allowed to take up space."
- Under Eye:"I am worthy of love."
- Under Nose:"Not because I earned it."
- Chin:"Because I exist."
- Collarbone:"I am becoming."
- Under Arm:"And I am already beloved."
- Top of Head:"I am enough."
After You Tap
Take a breath. Drink some water.
Notice what came up — tightness, emotion, a memory, nothing at all. All of it is information. None of it is wrong.
You just did something brave.
This is only the beginning. At Becoming & Beloved, there are full courses that take you deeper — into the specific wounds that shaped you, and the healing that’s already waiting on the other side.
You’re in the right place.
